Walking & Hiking
There are lots of hiking routes, hill walks and forest trails nearby. From the local woodland quarter on the shores of Mulroy Bay, to the longer walks around Ards Forest Park, there’s plenty of opportunity to challenge yourself or just take in the scenery with a gentle stroll.
Beaches
Donegal has many beaches, but none finer than around the Mulroy area. From Ballymastocker Bay to the famous Murder Hole Beach, Tra Beg, Tra Mór and Tranarossan Bay, you will be spoilt for choice and can discover many more beautiful isolated beaches on your travels. Many beaches are safe for swimming, but always pay attention to warning signs in some exposed areas.
Golf
The Rosapenna Golf Club, with it’s three challenging links courses, as well as the beautiful Portsalon and Otway Golf Clubs, will leave you spoilt for choice. There are many more courses within a short drive, and even more accessible when the Swilly Ferry is running, including the stunning Ballyliffin Golf Club, home to the 2018 Irish Open Championship.
Glenveagh National Park
Glenveagh National Park lies in the heart of County Donegal, among the wild and rugged landscape of the Derryveagh Mountains. Its pristine habitats and protected wildlife, and its trails taking in the stunning Victorian Castle and Gardens along Lough Veagh, make Glenveagh the ideal escape for lovers of the natural world.
Water Sports
With so many wonderful beaches and inland waterways, of course there will be plenty of opportunity to take up some kayaking, windsurfing, paddle boarding, or even deep sea diving and sea fishing, with most facilities within a 15 minute drive from Mulroy Drive Camping.
